Jeanne & Mary visited us in 2019 in Scotland and stayed with my father, Jerry Swan. We had a wonderful time with them and Jeanne and Dad kept in touch by letter. So sorry to hear of her passing and our condolences to all the family. We remember her fondly. From Caroline Swan, on behalf of the Swan family.

Jeanne was a loving and patient friend, neighbor and tutor for my son. She helped my shy boy come out of his shell and write with clarity and a plethora of adjectives. She always had a cookie for him , a smile, praise and words of encouragement. He is now an Honors student. She will be missed deeply by my whole family.

Jeanne, we’ve been friends since Our Lady of Lourdes grammar school. I’ll always remember running back and forth through the woods, from Chestnut to Elm, my house to yours. You always knew when I needed your phone call. You will be God’s most beautiful Angel. I love you my friend, Audrey Markey

More than 30 years later, I still apply the lessons Mrs. Wiegel taught me (especially how to spot and fix a dangling participle) on a regular basis and use her helpful tips and tricks to help others understand and remember. Mrs. Weigel was such an incredible influence in my life, and the lives of so many others. I still take pride in my ability to recite poems like The House with Nobody in It, Little Boy Blue, The Road Not Taken and many others, all thanks to her. What an incredible impact she had! Her family and friends are in my thoughts. I hope they find comfort in the awareness of the meaningful mark she made on countless lives. ❤️

Mrs. Weigel had an astounding impact on my life and the lives of so many students at St. Cassian's School. Not only was she an incredible teacher of English, but she was also an educator in life lessons, community, good manners and our Catholic faith. She was a giant of education and will be sorely missed.
