Brian Sercus, 30 - Brian C. Sercus, 30, of Wharton passed away Tuesday August 16, 2011 after a life long battle with Cystic Fibrosis, at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center, Pittsburg, PA, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Relatives and friends may call at the Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange, N.J. on Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be offered Saturday August 20th at St. Joseph's Church, West Orange at 10:00 a.m. Those attending the funeral are asked to meet at the church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Brian had been Medical Research Analyst for Tufts Health Plan in Boston, MA for 2 years. He received his bachelor's degree, Cum Laude with a double major in Psychology and Government, from Connecticut College in 2003. Brian was born in Livingston, NJ and was raised in West Orange. After graduation from college he moved to Boston and had recently relocated to Wharton, NJ. He recently discovered a true passion for art, displaying his work at a show in Morristown Memorial Hospital this past April. Poker, writing, and gaming were also his passion. "Live for them all" was his motto. Brian is survived by his devoted parents, Beth (nee Loughrey) Sercus , Barry Sercus and his wife Stacy; brother Ari Sercus; grandparents Thomas & Margaret Loughrey, Faith Sercus and Marshall Sercus; also survived by several loving aunts, uncles and cousins. His loving dog, Lily, has been his faithful companion.
