Obituary of Gusatavo Enrique Fernandez

Gustavo E. Fernandez, 79 Gustavo E. Fernandez, 79, of West Orange passed away on Saturday November 19, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday November 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave. West Orange. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Upper Montclair. Donations may be made in Gustavo's name to Our Lady of Lourdes Church or the Adler Aphasia Center, 60 West Hunter Ave., Maywood, NJ 07607. Arrangements are entrusted to The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange. Gustavo was born in Havana, Cuba, moving to New York in 1960, then living in Montclair before moving to West Orange in 1993. He was a Banker working for Banco Popular in New York. He then worked for Burgdorff Realtors in Montclair. Gustavo was a member of the Montclair Lions Club, and he was a former Governor at Bradford Bath & Tennis Club in Cedar Grove. Gustavo was the beloved husband for 55 years of Cristie Fernandez. He is survived by his son, Gustavo A. Fernandez and wife Elena, and his daughter Mai Fernandez and her husband Peter Ufland and his cherished grandson, Quique.
