Dear Mary, My thoughts & prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time. I understand what it means to lose a child - we lost our Sean Michael when he was only 3 1/2 months old in 1976. It is like a part of yourself has died. I know it's difficult to look to the future but time helps. As time goes on, you will treasure your memories of Sean and remember the good times. The pain never leaves but eventually eases as you realize that Sean will live in your heart forever. You also have a part of him in his children, which will bring you comfort. I found that talking about our Sean and the joy he brought us in his short life helped me to appreciate the time we had with him. Talk about Sean, laugh at your fun times together and cry for yourself and family. Your Sean is a new saint in heaven who will be watching over you and your family. God bless you.
