Obituary of Martin F. McDonald

Martin F. "Pidge" McDonald Jr., 68 Martin F. "Pidge" McDonald Jr., 68, of West Orange passed away on Monday, March 15, 2016. Visiting will be held today, Wednesday March 16, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM at the Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street in West Orange. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Martin's name to: Elks Children's Fund, 424 Main Street, West Orange, NJ 07052. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 9:00 AM at the Funeral Home, followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Valley Church, 510 Valley Street in Orange. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Martin was born and raised in Orange before moving to West Orange. He was an Asbestos Worker with the International Association of Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers Local 32 in Highland Park, where he was also a union member for 47 years. Martin was a member of the West Orange Elks BPOE #1590, and the East Hanover VFW. Mr. McDonald proudly served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 during the Vietnam War. Martin was the devoted father of Lori Ann Hogge and her fiancé Andy Wolz, and Maureen Marciano and her husband Larry. Loving brother of Maureen McDonald and Kathleen Vecchione. Cherished grandfather of Megan, Christopher, Ava, and Ashley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
