William George Christman - William George Christman, 73, of West Caldwell, N.J. died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday April 8, 2011. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass to be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Saint Cassian Church, Upper Montclair, at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the Dangler Funeral Home from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 10, 2011. Born in 1937, Bill spent his childhood in Brooklyn, NY. He and his wife Lorraine lived in Montclair, NJ for 28 years, and have lived in West Caldwell, NJ for the last 12 years. Bill received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Villanova University in 1959, and received his Masters of Business Administration from New York University Stern Business School in 1969. He was a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. Most recently he worked for Moody's Investors Service until he retired in May, 2001. Groups to which he dedicated his free time included the Boy Scouts of America, Villanova Alumni Association, Great Sacandaga Lake Association, Habitat for Humanity, and the New Jersey Wood Turners. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, visiting his family's property in the Adirondacks, and restoring his beloved Porsche 356c that he bought while working in Germany as a young man. Bill is survived by his wife Lorraine (nee Winterberger) of 41 years; his daughter Susan and her husband Steve Croce, ; his son Brian and his wife Maureen Doherty, his son Will and his wife Julie Christman , his nine grandchildren, Alexandra Croce, Jake Croce, Erin Croce, Liam Christman, Aidan Christman, Brian Christman, Ryan Christman, Caroline Christman, Megan Christman; and a sister, Peggy Barra of Conway, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in his memory to the charity of your choice.
