Sylvia J. Hicks of Livingston NJ passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Sylvia was born on September 20, 1937 to Josefina and Octave Engelbrecht. Growing up in NYC she attended St. Cecelia's school and Julia Richmond H.S., she always

had an interest in business.

Before she started her career she had her three children; Sandra, Lauren, and Robert. Sylvia started her career at the American Hull Insurance Syndicate on Wall Street NY.

There is where she met her beloved husband Raymond Hicks Jr., then married on March 17, 1979.

They enjoyed a great life together and traveled often. Sylvia also worked at Midlantic Bank and Fiserv Financial untill she retired in 2007.

Sylvia lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the casino, and seeing shows at the Papermill Playhouse.  She was meticulous about her hair and her nails, (also known as Grandma Nails) above all she loved spending time with her family and friends. 

Sylvia was predeceased by her husband Raymond Hicks Jr. (2010).

She is survived by her daughter Sandra Percoskie and her husband Derick, her daughter Lauren Baughn and her husband Maurice, her son Robert Harrington and his wife Julia, daughter in law Marcellia Hicks and her land husband Raymond HIcks III.

She leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
