Julie Mary Coates, 95

Julia Mary Coates, 95 of West Orange died Friday September 6th at home surrounded by loving family. Julia was born  December 10th, 1928 in Scranton, PA.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Julia Bartels, her son Robert Reilly, her husband Charles J. Coates, and 11 siblings.

Survived by daughter Karen Alpers and husband Art, son James Reilly and wife Eileen, granddaughter Eileen Kiley and husband Sam Kiley, daughter Diane Frame and husband Rob and family, son Charles Coates and family. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Julia worked at Bates Manufacturing in Orange and Saverna in Roseland before retiring. She was a excellent caretaker to her mother , her husband Charles, and her dear friend Peg McDonald.

Julia was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in West Orange, a choir member for more than 30 years. She was a member of the West Orange Seniors, where she had many wonderful friends. She enjoyed sewing, making dolls, word games, jigsaw puzzles and playing Rummikubs, and spending time at the Jersey shore with her dear friends.

Visiting for Julia will be held onThursday September 12, 2014 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St. in West Orange.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday September 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave. in West Orange.
