Sally Paternostro, 89

Sally Paternostro, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, 89, of West Orange, NJ, passed away on May 27 at Brookdale Senior Living. Sally was predeceased by her husband Sam. She was devoted to her family and her Catholic Faith.

Sally loved welcoming people into her home and ensuring that they left feeling happy and well-fed. She was an amazing cook and was happiest when the house was full of family and friends for whom she could prepare and serve a holiday meal or just a Sunday dinner.

Sally is survived by her children Sally Ann (Harry) Knudsen, Nancy (Vinnie) Dietrick, and Freddy (Ann) Paternostro,  her brother David McCaffrey, her beloved grandsons Zachary, Andrew, Anthony, Martin, and Frederick, and her great-grandchildren Madison, Cole, Julian, Owen, Tripp, and Callahan. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

A celebration of her life will be held Monday, June 10th at 11:00 a.m. with a Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, One Eagle Rock Avenue, West Orange, NJ.
