Kathryn A. Forsyth, 73, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024 in Toms River.

 

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in West Orange, NJ on May 8th, 2024 at 10:30 am. Cremation will be private.Visitation will be held at Dangler Funeral Home (340 Main St. West Orange, NJ) on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024 from 4 pm - 8 pm.

 

Kathy was born in West Orange, NJ to Bernice and Gregory Forsyth on April 3rd, 1951. She attended East Orange Catholic H.S. and graduated in 1969. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science & Communications from Seton Hall University, graduating in 1973. Her career in public relations spanned five decades in both the public and private sectors, including serving as Deputy Press Secretary to Governor Brendan Byrne, State Director for Senator Frank Lautenberg, Vice President at The Marcus Group, Inc., and Director of Public Information for the NJ Department of Education. 

 

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Edward F. Liston Jr. of Toms River, her stepchildren, Timothy and Sandra Liston, David and May Liston, K. Brooke Pennypacker, and Kaitlin Pennypacker, her siblings John Forsyth and wife Julie, Frank Forsyth and wife Carla, sister-in-law Alice Forsyth, sister-in-law Peggy Pingicer and her husband Gordon, as well as her many loving cousins, nieces and nephews, and step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Patrick Forsyth.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Community Medical Center, and the professionals and staff at The Rose Garden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, both of Toms River, NJ.
