Theresa B. Cleary,76

Theresa Barbara (Olender) Cleary passed away on April 30, 2024 in Livingston, NJ.

                Of Polish descent, Theresa was born in Germany.  As a young girl, she emigrated to the United States and attended Barringer High School in Newark.  She is predeceased by her mother Katarzyna Olender and her cousin Halina Pasmonde (Golab).  Theresa was a loving and devoted wife to John J. Cleary (deceased).  She is survived by her three sons, Francis Connolly, John Connolly, and Dennis Cleary.  Mother-in-Law to Elizabeth Connolly and Janelle Cleary.  “Nana” to five grandchildren; Katie and Kelly Connolly; Jack, Claire and Kevin Cleary.

                When she was not spending time with her grandchildren, Theresa enjoyed gardening, traveling and attending weekly mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.  She hosted the annual “Kegs and Eggs” St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast and made the best Irish coffee around.  Long time office manager with East Orange Senior Citizens’ Housing, Theresa was a staple in local elderly community.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visiting will be held on Monday May 6, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St. in West Orange.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday May 7, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagler Rock Ave. in West Orange. 

Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
