Arlene Donovan, a beloved motion picture literary agent turned producer, passed away on February 14, 2024. Born in Newark, NJ on July 15, 1927, she is survived by her sister Doris "Sis" Kearney, who resides in McLean, VA, and 11 nieces and nephews. Arlene was pre-deceased by her parents Doris and John H. Donovan and her brother Jack Donovan from Ocean Township, NJ.

Arlene's career in the film industry began in New York, where she worked as a story editor to Director Robert Rosen before joining Columbia Pictures. In the early 1970's she became a motion picture literary agent at ICM, representing top writers and directors, while progressing to become literary head of lCM motion picture department. Arlene's collaboration with director-writer Robert Benton Included "The Late show", and led to the production of several acclaimed films, including "Kramer vs. Kramer", "Gull of the Night", "Places in the Heart", "Nadine", "Twillght", and "Billy Bathgate." She also served as an executive producer on the 1988 thriller "The House on Carroll Street".
