Grace A Farese (nee Leone)

Beloved mother and grandmother passed away on Tuesday May 16 at the age of 101. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 35 years, Daniel Farese and her brother Domenic Leone. Grace is survived by her daughter Geri Farese, her son Louis Farese and grandson Daniel Farese.

 Grace was born in East Orange to the late Domenic and Josephine Leone both from Avellino, Italy. She met her husband, Daniel in 1949 and shortly after married and settled in West Orange to raise their family.

For many years, Grace was a school guard in West Orange. She loved talking to the children and hearing about their day at school. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Renna Senior House and was actively involved in all their functions.  In particular, Grace looked forward to the senior luncheons hosted by WOHS.

 During the summer months, Grace was a staple at the Ginny Duenkel pool.

As a member of the Women’s Auxiliary for Amvets Post 70, she volunteered at the Lyons VA Hospital.

Those who knew Grace remember her never ending zest for life, her laughter and sense of humor, kindness and loyalty to her family and friends.      She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

 Visitation will be at Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in Grace’s name may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-9959.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 9:45 AM at Our Lady of the Valley Church, 510 Valley Road in Orange. Interment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Cemetery in Woodbridge.
