Obituary of Ann Frances Jensen

Please share a memory of Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ann Marzano Jensen of West Orange passed away at the age of 86. She passed peacefully in her sleep Friday, March 3, 2023.

Born and raised in Orange, New Jersey she enjoyed her childhood with her parents Salvatore and Carmela, sister Clara Ann and her brother Patrick. She graduated from Orange High School in 1954. She married Roy Jensen in March of 1957. She worked for the Special Services Division of the Orange Board of Education until her retirement in 1999. She and her husband welcomed 3 children, LeAnn in 1958 and twins Sal and Roy in 1963.  Ann and Roy relocated their family to Park Terrace in West Orange in October of 1975.

Ann celebrated her life with her family by her side. As their children grew, they welcomed their sons and daughter in law, Kevin, Kitty and Jon and their grandchildren, Mariann, Kevin, Kristen and Emilie together until Roy passed away in 1996. Ann welcomed an additional 3 grandchildren, Dean, Lisa and Roy and her 4 great grandchildren, Iris, Amelia, Dean and Sophia after his passing. Ann was an ever present force in her family’s life, never missing a birthday, school concert, anniversary or excuse for cake and coffee. Ann welcomed all into her home and more people called her “mom” and “grandma” than she would have ever thought possible, recalling for years into the future the bowl of spaghetti, the slice of cake or the advice they received at her kitchen table.

Ann and Roy enjoyed spending their time traveling to the mountains of Pennsylvania and camping and fishing with their family. They shared that love with their children and grandchildren, eventually purchasing their own RV with the intent to travel the country.

Ann spent countless hours with her friends, enjoying lunches, chatting and playing cards. Some of them have surely long been awaiting her to join their heavenly card game! Ann enjoyed crafting with her friends and family, a love she passed on to her daughter, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hours were spent Pretty Punching, painting ceramics, crocheting and scrapbooking. Her creations live on in the homes of those she loved.

She is predeceased by her parents, Salvatore and Carmela Marzano, her sister Clara Ann Marzano Anderton, her brother-in-law Daniel Anderton, and her sister-in-law Wanda Anderton. She is survived by her brother, Patrick Marzano, her 3 children LeAnn Burns and her husband Kevin, Sal Jensen and his husband Jon, and Roy Jensen and his wife Kitty. She is further survived by her 7 grandchildren, Mariann and her husband Robert, Kevin, Kristen, Dean, Emilie, Lisa, Roy and his fiancé Bianca, her 4 great-grandchildren Iris, Amelia, Dean and Sophia, and many grand-pets. She leaves behind her niece Diana, her nephew Sal Michael and their children Sean, Samantha, Christian and Justin, as well as more cousins and friends than could possibly be named.

Visitation will be at Dangler Funeral Home in West Orange Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 103 South Center Street in Orange, where she was a lifelong loyal parishioner at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 10, 2023 with her final interment at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
