Obituary of Daniel Nicholas Tobia
Daniel Tobia, of West Orange passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022. Daniel was born November 22, 1947 (74 years old) to the late Louis and Genevieve Tobia.
Dan proudly served in the U.S. Army and bravely fought in the Vietnam War. He returned home to attend Bloomfield College where he earned a B.A. in History. Daniel had a successful career with the West Orange Fire Department, where he retired in 2002, as a Deputy Chief. Throughout his career he was also an employee of RPM development in which he just retired in May 2022.
Dan was hard working in everything he did and best known for this good-humored spirit and loyalty. He was always there for family and friends and incredibly generous to all. He volunteered for many events and organizations throughout his life. He was a supportive Father and Grandfather, cheering you on at sporting events or giving you sound advice through his caring words. Dan was a remarkable human being who everyone enjoyed being around.
Daniel is survived by his children: Daniel (Meagan) Tobia, Darren Tobia and Dana (John) Lewandowski. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren: Ryder, Brayden, Carter and Emersyn. Siblings Louis Tobia, Martin Tobia, Shirley (Thomas) Gallagher, Deborah (Ralph) Meola and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 13th from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange. 340 Main St, West Orange NJ 07052. In lieu of flowers may be made in Daniel's name to: American Heart Association 1 Union Street Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183
