Obituary of Richard Sayers

Richard W. "Mickey" Sayers, Sr., 74 Richard W. Sayers Sr., "Mickey", 74, of West Orange passed away on Saturday June 14, 2014 at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday June 18, 2014 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street in West Orange at 9:00AM. Then to Saint Joseph's Church Benvenue Avenue West Orange for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mickey's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. Mickey was born and was a lifelong resident of West Orange. He was a carpet installer for Harry Rich Incorporated in Newark for many years. He was a proud member of the West Orange Elk's BPOE 1590. Mickey proudly served his country from 1957 to 1960 in the United States Marine Corp. Mickey was the beloved husband of Carol (nee Spacciante) Sayers for 52 years. Devoted father of Richard W "Ricky" Jr. and his wife Kathy. Loving brother of the late Madeline Kettell, James Edward, Alberta Graham, and Edward Joseph. Cherished grandfather of Thomas and Ryan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
