Jacqueline D. Decker, 60 Jacqueline D. Decker, (nee Eck), 60, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at her home in Montclair. Jacqueline "Jackie" was born on Nov. 5, 1953, in Orange, N.J., and raised in Short Hills, one of four daughters of Daniel and Gloria Eck. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, N.J. Jackie worked and lived in Summit before moving to Montclair nearly 30 years ago. After her son was born, she was a homemaker. Music was one of Jackie's greatest joys in life; she possessed numerous collections of recordings. Jackie loved to sing and had great fun participating in Karaoke and even auditioned for The X Factor TV show. She also loved spending "beach weekends" with her three sisters, with whom she shared a lifelong close relationship. Jackie possessed a wonderful sense of humor and was very sociable enjoying a wide circle of friends. Jackie was active with the Thursday Social group at the Mental Health Association of Essex County. She was a volunteer at the 2nd Time Around Shop at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, the Salvation Army, the Montclair Public Library and PAWS Montclair. A marriage to Mark Decker ended in divorce. Jacqueline D. Decker was the beloved daughter of the late Dr. Daniel B. and Gloria (Holmes) Eck; the mother of beloved son, David Charles Decker, of Madrid, N.M.; cherished sister of Donna E. McQueen, of Allentown, Pa.; Elizabeth A. Eck, of Towson, Md.; and Nancy E. Loeffler and her husband, Paul H. Loeffler, of Bridgewater, N.J. and loving aunt of Matthew C. McQueen and his wife, Melissa McQueen, of New York City; and Sarah E. Loeffler, of Bridgewater, N.J. Visitation will be held at the Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St., West Orange, N.J., on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Jacqueline Decker's Life will take place on May 28, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 73 S. Fullerton Ave., Montclair. Interment will be private at St. Stephen's Cemetery, Millburn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jacqueline's name to: Mental Health Association of Essex County, 33 S. Fullerton Ave., Montclair, NJ 07042.
