John J. Kunz, 77

John Joseph Kunz, 77, of West Orange passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave. in West Orange. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to:  West Orange Elks, Camp Moore, 424 Main St., West Orange NJ 07052 & West Orange Knights of Columbus #5519, West Orange PO Box 3202 TCB, West Orange, NJ 07052. Arrangements are entrusted to The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street in West Orange.

John was born in West Orange and was a lifelong resident. He was the manager of West Orange Check Cashing for many years and upon retiring was a valued member of the staff at Dangler Funeral Home. Mr. Kunz proudly served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of Sargent. John was a member of the West Orange Elks BPOE #1590, the West Orange Knights of Columbus Council #5519, and the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Lourdes Church as well as an Usher. He was a car enthusiast and a long time member of Lead East Car Club. John also enjoyed fishing, oldies music, walking sticks, and was known to be quick witted with his jokes.   

John was the beloved husband of 51 years of Emily Kunz (Russomanno). Devoted father of Kim Truzzolino and her husband Fred. Cherished grandfather of Isabella and Olivia. Loving brother of Henry, Bruce, and the late William Jr. and Joseph Kunz. John leaves behind many friends and neighbors.
