Obituary of Mary-Alice Torres

Mary-Alice (McCauley) Torres, 59

Our beloved Mary-Alice Torres (nee McCauley), age 59, of West Orange, became Heaven’s newest angel on Monday, July 12, 2021 after a battle with cancer.  Her beautiful smile, kind and supportive attitude and her loving and inspirational manner will be greatly missed by her family, friends, professional colleagues and those whom she knew throughout her lifetime.  

Mary-Alice was born in Orange and was a lifelong resident of West Orange. She worked in various management and consultant capacities since graduating from Our Lady of Lourdes School, Mount Saint Dominic Academy and Fairleigh Dickenson University in Madison.  Prior to her current employment with IBM as a Workforce Analyst, she worked for several companies, including PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Petrie Stores Corp. and Hahne & Co.

Mary-Alice was the beloved bride of 33 years to Ray Torres Jr. and the cherished daughter of Alice Smith McCauley.  The loving Mother of two beautiful daughters, Diana Mary Torres (Orlando, FL) and Julia Torres (West Milford, NJ), and the younger Sister of Daniel McCauley and his wife Regina, she will be greatly missed.  Mary-Alice is also survived by a father-in-law Ray Torres, Sr. and his wife Mary, a brother-in-law Kevin Torres, his wife Mary, another brother-in-law Craig Torres and his wife Jennifer, and six cherished nieces and nephews: Samantha, Lauren, Jake, Justin, Brian, and Ava. She is also survived by many relatives, cousins and friends.

Visiting will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street.

At the request of the family masks or face coverings are mandatory.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave. in West Orange. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
