Albert Steven Weiss, 85

Albert Steven Weiss, 85, of West Orange Township passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.  

Al was the beloved husband of the late Lael F. “Wilmot” Weiss. Devoted father of Nancy Mooney and her husband James, and Tracy Biehler and her husband Daniel. Cherished grandfather of Jamie, Lauren, Paige, Michael, and Megan. Loving brother of Theresa Carlson and the late Robert Harvilla.

Al was born and raised in Nanticoke, PA before moving to West Orange. Before retiring with 50 years of service, he was a Frame Technician at Verizon, in the East Orange ACO. Mr. Weiss proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Al was a West Orange Volunteer Fireman in the 1970’s, he was a fixture at Happy Hour at the Grass Hopper in Cedar Grove and morning coffee at Shop Rite in Livingston. He was an avid golfer, with his foursome of Otto, Dave, and Bill.   

Visiting will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St., West Orange.  Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerfuneralhome.com.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Saint Raphael’s Church, 346 Mt. Pleasant Ave., in Livingston.  Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield.

During the COVID 19 pandemic, all persons entering the Funeral Home will be required to wear a face mask or face covering throughout their stay. Likewise, all social distancing rules must be adhered to. Gathering together in groups should not happen. A continued flow throughout the facility will aid in keeping all of us safe, with everyone having an opportunity to pay their respects.
