John "Jack" McCrone - John "Jack" McCrone, 70 of Brick, formerly of West Orange died on Friday January 15, 2010. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday January 20, 2010 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange 340 Main Street at 8:30 AM then to Our Lady of Lourdes Church for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at in Sea Girt. Visiting will be Tuesday 1-4 & 6-9 PM. Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerfuneralhome.com. Mr. McCrone was born in Scranton, Pa., moving to West Orange in 1955 then to Brick 5 years ago. He served on the West Orange Police Department for 27 years retiring as Sergeant of Police Detective 1995. He was a member of the West Orange PBA Local 25, delegate for two terms and also served as President of the Local 25, The Emerald Society, lifetime member of the DAV NJ Chapter 19, the American Legion Post 0348 Brick, NJ . Mr. McCrone was the president of the West Orange Municipal Credit Union for one term. He served on the state PBA executive board for eight years, he was the Deputy Grand Marshal of the West Orange St. Patrick's Day Parade in 1994. He attended Holy Rosary in Scranton, West Orange High School and Morris County College. Mr. McCrone served in the United States Army from 1959 to 65 . Mr. McCrone was the beloved husband of 49 years of Margaret "Maggie" McCrone (nee Lorimer), the love of his life. Predeceased by his parents Margaret and Leo McCrone. Devoted father of John and his wife Tricia, Mark and his wife Colleen, Andrew and his wife Kristie, and Paul and his wife Laura. Loving brother of Leo J. and his wife Patricia, Frank and his wife Mary and Ann McHugh and her husband Robert and the late Paul McCrone. His eleven grandchildren were the greatest joy of his life, they are: Colette, Tara, Sean, Kellyn, Ryan, Skye, Hannah, Willow, Conner, Tyler and Karlie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the PBA Local #25, 66 Main Street, West Orange, NJ 07052. John was a kidney transplant recipient in 1989 and was always grateful for this gift of life. He lived life to the fullest and cherished the time he spent with his friends and family. His friends were an important part of his life and he spent many enjoyable vacations with them.
