Doris Hanley, 93

Doris Hanley (nee Wright), 93, 0f West Orange died Friday, August 23, 2019.  

Visiting will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St. in West Orange from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 10:00AM. Family will meet at St. Peter Claver R.C. Church, 56 Elmwood Ave. Montclair. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Orange. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Anne Arundel County Special Olympics, P.O. Box 553, Crownsville, MD, 21032

Doris was born in Glen Ridge, NJ. Doris along with her late husband Alan Hanley Sr. raised their six children in their family home on Washington Street in West Orange. She was a Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Our Lady of Lourdes and a member of the St. Peter Claver R.C. Church for the past 30 years, as well as the Healing Prayer Ministry.

Doris enjoyed spending her time sewing, crocheting, and doing crossword puzzles. Doris loved traveling with her family. She also enjoyed watching sports especially the NY Mets and NY Giants.

Doris was the beloved wife of the late Alan Hanley Sr. Devoted mother of Stephen & Rose Hanley, Sally & Lenny Giorgio, Timmy & Marilyn Hanley, Katy & Kenny Schieman, Michael & Debbie Hanley, Alan Hanley, Jr. & Richard Congdon. Loving sister of Irene Turner, Frederick Wright and Alfred Wright. Cherished grandmother of fourteen and great grandmother of sixteen. She was also adored by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
