Jay Walter Snellen - Jay Walter Snellen died on Thursday June 18, 2009 at CMC Union Hospital in Monroe, North Carolina. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange 340 Main Street . Interment will be private. Visiting will be Thursday 6-8 PM. Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerfuneralhome.com. Mr Snellen was born and raised in Newark living in East Orange and Glen Ridge before moving to South Carolina. Mr. Snellen Worked for the Borough of Glen Ridge in the Department of Public Works before retiring in 1984. Prior to working for Glen Ridge Jay worked for the United Parcel Service and Bambergers ..Mr. Snellen as a member of the Army National Guard from 1952-1960 Mr. Snellen was the devoted father of Jay Jr. and his wife Wendy, James and his wife Laura, Paul and his wife Helen, Timothy, and the late Danny.
