Obituary of Lydia Velez
Orange – Lydia Velez (nee Cintron) passed away on Wednesday December 26, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was 69.
Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico Lydia moved to Jersey City at age 12 and has lived in Orange for the past 45 years.
Lydia worked in child care at Wonder World in Union. Previously she was a seamstress. She attended Our Lady of the Valley R. C. Church in Orange, where she was active and was very devoted to her family.
Survivors include her husband Hector Velez Sr. married 51 years, her son Hector Velez Jr. (Tricia) and Ricardo Velez, three grandchildren, Alexandra, Olivia, and Sofia. Loving sister to Margo, Edith, Carmelo, Santine, Julie, Ana, Carmen, Miguel, Angel, Nieves and the late Carlos, and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by the Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange NJ 07052 (973) 325-1212.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday December 28, 2018 from 3-7-PM. A Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday December 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Valley R. C. Church, 510 Valley Road, Orange, NJ 07050. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery 340 Ridge Road North Arlington, NJ 07031.
