Obituary of Margaret Patricia Shelley

 Margaret Patricia “Peggy” Shelley, 86

Margaret Patricia “Peggy” Shelley, (nee Collins),86, of West Orange passed away on Friday December 21, 2018.  

Visiting will be held on Wednesday December 26, 2018 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St. in West Orange from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. 

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday December 27, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave., West Orange at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggy’s name to; The Sisters of Charity or Our Lady of Lourdes Church.  

Peggy was born in East Orange and was a lifelong resident of West Orange. She was the Parish Administrator of St. Thomas the Apostle in Bloomfield and later a Bookkeeper for St. Rose of Lima Church in Short Hills.  Peggy was on the Parish Council, a Trustee,  and a Lector at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, she was honored with the Marnell Award,  and a member of the Rosary Altar Society, the Mr. & Mrs. Club, and the Catholic Daughters. She also worked and taught CCD classes. Peggy was a member of the Seton Hall Mothers Auxiliary.

Peggy was the beloved wife of the late Daniel F. Shelley.  Devoted mother of Deborah Despotovich and her husband Eric, and Daniel Shelley and his wife Kathleen.  Loving sister of George Collins and his wife Carole, sister in law of Marjory Collins, and the late Mary Lou Spitzer and David Collins.  Cherished grandmother of Danielle and her husband Michael, Eric and his wife Carrie, Jenna, Daniel, Caitlin, and Anna.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
