Richard Diego Giordano, 89

Richard Diego Giordano, 89, of West Orange passed away on Monday December 3, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Visiting will be held on Sunday December 9, 2018 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street in West Orange from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday December 10, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave., West Orange.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Richard was born in Dunmore, PA., raised in Newark before moving to West Orange. Mr. Giordano was a career military man, proudly served as Major in the Army National Guard for 45 years. Richard was a member of 50^th Armor Division in West Orange. He was an avid athlete, and excelled in track and was an outstanding football player at Central High in Newark.

Richard was the beloved husband of the late Margaret Giordano (nee Scoton).  Devoted father of Frances Giordano, Paulene Giordano, and the late Richard Giordano. Loving brother of John and his wife Jean, Carmen and his wife Patricia, Raymond, and Joseph. Cherished grandfather of Anthony, Michael, Justin, and Andrew. Great-grandfather of Gia, he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
