Harold Dennis Ricker, 88 - Harold D. Ricker, 88, of South Plainfield passed away on Thursday December 26, 2013 at JFK Hospital in Edison. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday December 30, 2013 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Visiting will be Sunday from 2-6 PM. Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerfuneralhome.com. Harold was born in Midvale, NJ and lived most of his life in West Orange before moving to South Plainfield 30 years ago. He was an Operating Engineer and Foreman working for the Orange Quarry in West Orange. Mr. Ricker proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the West Orange Elks BPOE 1590, the American Legion and the VFW Post 6763 in South Plainfield, and the Moose Lodge in Venice Florida. Harold was the beloved husband of the late Claire Ricker (nee Fineran). Devoted father of Harold Jr. "Rick" Ricker, John Deignan and his wife Cathy, Dorothy Perretti and the late Rosemary Robertello. Loving brother of Jean Macagney. Cherished grandfather of 11, and great-grandfather of 3. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters.
