Thomas Anthony Callahan Sr., 73 - Thomas A. Callahan Sr., 73, of Manahawkin, formerly of West Orange, passed away on Wednesday September 4, 2013 at his home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday September 10, 2013 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange at 8:30 AM, then to Our lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave. in West Orange for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Montclair. Visiting will be Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Tom's name to the West Caldwell Care Center, 165 Fairfield Ave., West Caldwell, NJ 07006. Tom was born in Orange, raised in West Orange and had a duel residence in Florida and Manahawkin. He was the Owner and Operator of West Essex/Callahan Jewelers' in West Caldwell. Tom was a member of Cryan's Association, The Shillelagh Club, Giblin Association, Irish American of the Oranges, O'Hara Association, Brian Boru Association, The Ancient Order of Hibernians and The International Jewelers Organization. Tom was the Past President of the Garden State Irish Festival and was honored as the Grand Marshall of the West Orange Saint Patrick's Day Parade in 1998. Tom was the devoted father of Thomas A. Jr. and his wife Ann Marie, and Brian and his wife Joanne. Loving brother of Carol Callahan. Cherished grandfather of Lauren, Thomas, Courtney, and Kate.
