Obituary of Eugene R. Brennan

Eugene R. Brennan, 80 - Eugene Robert Brennan, 80 of West Orange passed away on Monday September 2, 2013. Funeral Services will be held on Friday September 6, 2013 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange at 8:30 AM, then to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave., in West Orange for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 225 Ridgedale Avenue in East Hanover. Visiting will be Thursday from 3-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gene's name to American Heart Association 1 Union Street, Suite 301 Robinsville, NJ 08691-4183 or the American Diabetes Association PO Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312. Gene was born in Orange and was a lifelong resident of West Orange. He was a troop leader with the West Orange Troop 2 Boy Scouts, a New Jersey Arms Collector, a member of the National Rifle Association. He was past president of the NJ Shade Tree Federation, Past President of the NJ Arborist Association, and a NJ Certified Tree Expert, CTE #143. Gene proudly served in the Unites States Army during the Korean War, and was a lifelong member of the Roseland VFW. Eugene was the beloved husband of Grace Brennan (nee Barr) of 51 years. Devoted father of Eugene M. Brennan and his wife Barbara, Elizabeth Meleas and her husband Theodore, and stepfather to George Barbaz and his wife Barbara. Loving brother of the late John J. Brennan. Brother in law to Margaret "Peggy" Brennan. Cherished grandfather of Alec, Caitlyn, Spiros. Also survived by many nieces and nephews
