Margaret F. Kirby, 96 - Margaret F. Kirby (nee Heavey) of West Orange died on Wednesday April 8, 2009 at St. Vincent's Nursing Home in Cedar Grove. She was 96 years old. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday April 15, 2009 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange at 8:30 AM followed by a Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave. West Orange at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair. Visiting will be Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 400 Morris Ave. Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365 Mrs. Kirby was born in Kiltulla, County Galway, Ireland. She came to New Jersey in 1928 and worked as a governess for the children of Lord and Lady Brackenridge in South Orange. After her marriage to Maurice P. Kirby she was a homemaker in Newark, East Orange and West Orange for him and for her children, Edmond M. retired superior court judge of Harding Township, Ann Washington of Toms River, Margaret of Caldwell and Maurice P. Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas. Mrs. Kirby served for many years as a volunteer in the Cafeteria of Sacred Heart School (Vailsburg) and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Mr. & Mrs. Kirby celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in January 2004, shortly before his death. Also surviving are her daughters-in-law Patricia and Yvonne, her sister Nora Collins in Ireland, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers, Thomas, Michael, Stephen and Patrick Heavey and her sisters Celia, Bridget, Teresa, Mary, Christine, and Nancy.
