Sophia Catherine Powell, 62 - Sophia Catherine Powell,62, of East Orange passed away on Sunday July 21, 2013 at her home. A graveside service will take place on Saturday July 27, 2013 at Succasunna United Methodist Cemetery in Succasunna at 11:00 AM. Arrangements are being entrusted to The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange 340 Main Street West Orange, NJ 07052. Sophia was born in Montclair and was a lifelong resident of East Orange. She was an information validator working for Verizon in West Orange for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was also known as "Sparkle The Clown" working with the Telephone Pioneers clowning for many different charitable organizations. Sophia was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Lee Powell & Sophia Catherine Powell. Devoted sister of Nelson Powell and his wife Phyllis, and Mildred Powell. Cherished Aunt of Audrey, Michael, and Stephen.
