Obituary of Barbara Locke Zeevalk

Barbara Locke Zeevalk, 90 - Barbara Locke Zeevalk, 90, of West Orange passed away on Tuesday April 23, 2013 at home with her husband George by her side. The Funeral Services will be held on Saturday April 27, 2013 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover. Visiting will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Barbara, born to William and Helen Locke February 7, 1923 in Belmont, MASS. She graduated from Katherine Dell Secretarial School in Boston. Barbara worked as a Medical Secretary for Dr. J. Daniels in Bloomfield, was a den mother for a Cub Scout Troop that included David Cassidy and was Past President of the Eagle Rock School PTA. She was a member of the Lincoln Chapter #95 of the Eastern Star and served as organist for the chapter for over 25 years. Barbara was a member and Deaconess of the First Presbyterian Church of Orange for over 60 years. Married 67 years, she was survived by her husband, George Zeevalk, her four children; Drs. Robert and (Gail) Zeevalk, William and (Sandra) Zeevalk, Nancy and (Michael) Worthing, and David and (Dawn) Zeevalk. Also surviving are her 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Barbara's name to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, c/o Salaam Shrine, 369 Mount Pleasant Ave., Livingston, NJ 07039, or to the charity of your choice.
