Hyman "Herb" Pilchman, 90 - Hyman "Herb" Pilchman ,90 , of Parlin passed away on Thursday April 25, 2013. The Funeral Services will be held on Monday April 29, 2013 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange at 8:30 AM then to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave., West Orange for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. . Visiting will be Sunday from 3-7 PM. Herb was born and raised in East Orange and lived in Newark and Nutley before moving to Parlin 15 years ago. He was a Bus Driver working for the Township of Woodbridge. Prior to that he owned and operated Tremont Deli in East Orange. Mr. Pilchman proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II serving in the Philippians. Herb was a devout Catholic. He was a member of the V.F.W. and he would also volunteer every Saturday at the Woodbridge Developmental Center for Handicapped Children. Herb was the beloved husband of the late Edith Pilchman (nee Frese) Devoted father of Richard Pilchman and his wife Linda, Dr. Jeffrey Pilchman and his wife Mimi. Cherished grandfather of Rick, Kimberly, Jennifer and Justin. Loving great-grandfather of Sal and Leah. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Herb's name to Woodbridge Developmental Center, 1277 Rahway Ave., Avenel, NJ 07001.
