Bernard "Bernie" Joseph Cushman,89 - Bernard "Bernie" J. Cushman Sr., 89, of Monroe Township passed away on Wednesday February 20, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange at 9:00 AM then to Our Lady of the Valley Church, 510 Valley Street in Orange for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Visiting will be Sunday from 3-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bernard's name to: Immaculate Conception Church, 18 South Street, Spotswood, NJ 08884. Bernie was born and raised in the Bronx, NY living in Newark and Livingston before moving to Monroe Township 21 years ago. He was a Dispatcher working for PSE&G in East Orange. Mr. Cushman was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Monroe. Mr. Cushman was the beloved husband of 36 years of Elsie Grace Cushman (nee Manna). Devoted father of Bernard Jr. Loving brother of the late Rita Dalrymple, James Stretch, Edward Stretch, John Stretch, Eileen Rondinone and Dennis Cushman. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
