Mario Nicastro - Mario Nicastro of Garfield passed away on Wednesday May 9, 2012. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday May 16, 2012 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange at 8:30 AM then to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave., in West Orange for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Saddle Brook. Visiting will be Tuesday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the COPD Foundation, SW 27th Ave., Suite 302, Miami, FL 33133 and the American Heart Association 1 Union Street Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183. Mr. Nicastro was born in Agira Sicily living in Newark before moving to Garfield 40 years ago. He was a Custodian working for the Board of Education in East Orange. He also worked for the Lionel Train Company in Irvington. Mr. Nicastro proudly served during World War II in Italy. He was a member of the Agira Club in Newark. Mr. Nicastro was the beloved husband of the late Josephine Nicastro (nee Scaravilli). Devoted father of Gaetano, Diane Young, and Salvatore. Cherished Grandfather of 8 and Great-Grandfather of 16. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
