Obituary of Nicholas Rocco Corby

Nicholas "NicK" Rocco Corby Sr. - Nicholas "Nick" R. Corby of West Orange passed away on Thursday March 29, 2012 at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday April 4, 2012 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street, West Orange at 8:30 AM then to Saint Joseph's Church, 44 Benvenue Ave. in West Orange for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover. Visiting will be Tuesday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to The American Cancer Society, 906 South Springfield Ave. , Springfield, NJ 07081. Mr. Corby was born in West Orange and was a life long resident. He was the Recycling Coordinator, Working for the Township of West Orange for 15 years before retiring in 2006. Prior to that he was the Purchasing Agent for Walter Kidde in Belleville, the Office Manager for McGraw Edison in West Orange, and also worked as an Industrial Engineer for Otis Elevator in Harrison. Mr. Corby was a Eucharistic Minister at Saint John's Church in Orange. Nick played Professional Baseball for Union Town, PA as catcher for 4 years, and was on several senior pro teams in the West Orange area. Mr. Corby was the beloved husband of Jacquelyn Corby (nee Sproles). Devoted father of Nicholas Jr. and his wife Barbara, and Jacquelyn Corby. Cherished grandfather of Steven and David and his wife Deanna.
