Joseph Anthony Hoffman Jr., 81 - Joseph A. Hoffman Jr. of West Orange died on Tuesday January 13, 2009 at his home in West Orange. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 17,2009 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange 340 Main Street at 10:30 AM then to Saint Raphael's Church , Mt. Pleasant Ave. in Livingston for the Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover. Visiting will be Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerfuneralhome.com. Mr. Hoffman was born and raised in Jersey City before moving to West Orange 36 years ago. He was Senior Dispatcher for PSE&G in Newark for 38 years before retiring in 1987. Mr. Hoffman served in the United States Army from 1945-1947. He was a member of the West Orange Elks BPOE #1590, and Troop Leader for Handicapped Boy Scouts in Belleville. Mr. Hoffman was the beloved husband of 58 years of Adeline Hoffman (nee Woodin). Devoted father of Joseph A. III, Carol Filak, Donna Jackson, and Janice Hoffman. Cherished grandfather of 11.
