Lucy J. “Lu Lu” Petrucelli, 86

Lucy, or Lulu as many called her, passed away peacefully at home on July 3rd.

Visiting for Lucy will be held on Thursday July 10, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St. in West Orange.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday July 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM At the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover.

 Lucy survived by her loving husband, Daniel Petrucelli for over 70 years. Her sister-in-law Gail Intrabartola. Devoted mother of her son, James, and daughter-in-law, Paula Petrucelli. Her daughters, Donna Petrucelli and Michele Petrucelli. Cherished grandmother of  Danielle and Daniel McGovern,Samantha and Evan Rubin, Nicole and Vinnie Aurelio, William Mazzia, Angelina Smith,Gabrielle Petrucelli, James and Nicole Petrucelli Jr. Lorenze Smith, Loving Great grandmother of Christopher McGovern, Adeline McGovern, Kira Rubin, Hailey Aurelio. She was predeceased by her parents Michael And Josephine Russo, her sister Marie Fortunato, and her son Daniel Petrucelli.

Born at Saint Mary’s hospital in Orange New Jersey, Lucy was raised in West Orange and graduated from West Orange High School. Lucy worked most of her life at the Abbie in Orange, at PNC Bank corporate office, and Dr. Hegney chiropractic in Montclair where she retired from. She worked while raising her four kids.

Lucy were many hats; she was a wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, and a friend for life. The hat she was most proud of was being Gigi; the love for her great grandchildren goes beyond measure. Lucy loved to go to the casinos on any given weekend, you could find Lucy at her favorite slot machines either at Mount Airy in the Poconos or a Tropicana in Atlantic City. Lucy‘s love for her family was apparent during the holidays when she would host and cook for the entire family. Lucy was a friend for life-to know was to love her. She had a smile that was contagious and she’s going to be missed by so many. Fly with the angels.
