Obituary of John Louis Manganiello
John Manganiello,
John Manganiello, 83, of Brick, formerly of West Orange passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
Visiting will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St. in West Orange from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave., West Orange at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover. In lieu of flowers donations in John’s name are requested to; Tribute Program, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
John was born in West Pittston, PA, raised in East Orange, living in West Orange for many years before retiring to Brick in 2005. John was the Senior Program Monitor working for Essex County Community Development in Cedar Grove for 25 years before retiring in 2013. He graduated from East Orange High School, proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960. John was the Past Grand Knight and financial secretary of the West Orange Knights of Columbus Council 5519, the Archbishop Bayley 4th Degree, Past member of the Orange Elks Lodge #135, a member of the the Our Lady of Lourdes Church Holy Name Society, as well as an Usher and Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Visitation Church in Brick, and very involved with the Lion’s Head North community in Brick.
John was the beloved husband of 60 years to Lucy Manganiello (nee Dozier). Devoted father of Vincent Manganiello and his wife Michelle, Maria Ryan and her husband James, Robert and his wife Jessica, and the late Louis Manganiello. Father-in-law of Rose Mary Manganiello. Loving brother of Charles and his wife Mary Ann, and the late Louis Manganiello. Brother-in-law of Mary Manganiello, Norma Church, Donna Goodyear, Lonnie Dozier, and Juanita Belle Feucht. Cherished grandfather of Bianca, Joe, Giovanni, Olivia, Rocco, Elizabeth, and Julia. John is also survived by his aunt Terry Musto, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
