My sincere condolences to the entire Manganiello family for their loss. I worked with John for about five years and he was one of the kindest, warm hearted people I had ever encountered and had no problem in taking me under his wing. I came to the job as a young kid and he really challenged me right out of the gate to be a good public servant, and I cannot thank him enough for the lessons he taught me, as they allowed me to become a better person, man, and public servant. I know I will miss him, and I know he will be missed. If you drive anywhere in Essex County there isn't a neighborhood that doesn't have his good works displayed all around them. The sheer amount of projects that he was involved with is stunning and all of these things will live on, because of the dedication he had to ALL people, especially those who were in need. Godspeed in the next life my friend.

Sometimes our heavenly father's plan for us is not what we would have chosen. This is one of those times for me. John was a terrific brother in law to a little girl only 12 years old who danced the twist with him so many years ago. I grew up with John - 60 years he was my brother in law - I will miss his loving brotherly friendship. And his chuckle. John took pleasure in living and found contentment where ever he went. I believe his forever rest will be the same as the life he lived, peaceful and contented forever.

My sincere condolences Lucy and your entire family. John was such a wonderful person who adored his wife and family tremendously! It showed in his face everyday when he came to work and we all sat around the morning coffee or lunch table when he told us stories about the grandchildren. The visits to the office when Rocco & Giovanni showed up with their Dad brought even a bigger smile to his face. My heart goes out to you all. RIP John, soar with the angels and may the perpetual light shine upon you.

I am heartbroken and in shock. There are no perfect people, but Uncle John was near perfect. He was the leader and foundation of our family. To say he will be missed is an understatement...more like a gaping hole in the fabric of our this family. All my love and respect to you Aunt Lucy and to my cousins.
