John Joseph Scanlon, Jr., 53

John J. Scanlon Jr., of West Orange passed away suddenly on Friday July 12, 2019.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main St. in West Orange

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday July 17, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 1 Eagle Rock Avenue West Orange at 10:00 AM.  Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerfuneralhome.com.

John was born in East Orange and was a lifelong resident of West Orange. He worked as an Engineer at the Newark Jail prior to that he worked with The Operating Engineers Local# 68 in West Caldwell.

John was the beloved son of John and Mary Scanlon. Devoted brother of Elizabeth Steinwandtner, Kathleen Lewand and Mary Coyle .  He is also loved by nieces and nephews- Cara, Ricky and Ryan Steinwandtner, Nick, Nevin and Noelle Lewand, Conor, and Kyra Coyle and  great nieces and nephews.
