Michael John Fernicola, 63

Michael John Fernicola, 63, of Union, formerly of West Orange, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019.  

 Visiting will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange (340 Main Street, West Orange) from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s name to: Tribute Program, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142,

Memphis, TN 38148-0142.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 119 Forest Avenue in Cranford.  Cremation will be private.   

Michael was born in Newark, and raised in West Orange before moving to Union 35 years ago. He was the Inventory Manager working for Montclair Plumbing in Montclair. Michael was a member of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association. He was an Umpire in Union, Essex, and Middlesex.

Michael was the beloved husband of 38 years to Kathleen Ann Fernicola (nee Cooke). Cherished son of Florence Fernicola and the late Joseph Fernicola. Devoted father of Patricia and Jennifer. Loving brother of Joseph, Richard, and Irene Fernicola. Cherished grandfather of Nicole. Loving Uncle of many nieces and nephews.
