Obituary of Evelyn Judge

Evelyn Judge

 

Evelyn Judge, (nee Scanlon), of West Caldwell passed away on Thursday July 26, 2018. Born and raised in Sligo, Ireland to her late parents, Kate and John.  She came to the United States in 1952 from England.  She lived in West Orange for 40 years before moving to West Caldwell.   

Visiting will be held on Tuesday July 31, 2018 3:00 to 7:00 PM at The Dangler Funeral Home of West Orange, 340 Main Street. 

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday August 1, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1 Eagle Rock Ave., West Orange, NJ 07052. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.      

Beloved mother of Mary Judge, Patrick Judge Jr. and his wife April, Eileen McDonald and her husband Charles, and William Judge and his wife Mary.  Loving grandmother of Meagen, Dana, Ryan, PJ and his wife Yukui, Sean, Connor, and Brandon.  Predeceased by former husband Patrick Judge.  Dear sister of the late Andrew Scanlon and his wife Mary, Kathleen Scanlon and her husband John, Mother Superior Christina, Jimmy Scanlon, Mary Frances and her surviving brother John Scanlon and his wife Mary. Beloved aunt to 18 nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was a Clerk Transcriber at the Essex County Courthouse before retiring in 1993.  She also worked at Westinghouse in Bloomfield as well as New England Tel and Tel in Rhode Island.  Evelyn was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the Irish American Society of the Oranges, and the Giblin Association.  Evelyn loved visiting the Casinos in Atlantic City and Ireland. The family thanks Mary Judge for being a caregiver to her mother.
